COSTUMES, PROPS, LOCATIONS:

As well as rehearsing and starring alongside each other, each movie team will be given the task by their coaches to source out the locations for their movie as well as props and costumes which are very important to ensuring a high quality finished movie. This is where the competition amongst each team really begins! Attention to detail is key and will not go unnoticed when it comes to the big moment, the awards ceremony on the night. These duties are normally monitored and supported by the movies team leader. Think outside the box with this, you’d be amazed by what you can achieve in your town. Shane & John will be on hand also to advise on locations, costumes and props. At the first rehearsal, each movie team will be given a broken down, detailed list on all the locations they will need for their movie as well as the costumes and props.

REHEARSAL PROCESS:
  • An audition/Information evening will be the first thing to happen where the two director/coaches (Shane & John) will hand out a short monologue to the budding stars to be read by participants invited by you in a relaxed and encouraging  ‘audition’ environment. The monologue will be emailed ahead of the audition evening so participants can practice. After this, John & Shane will decide which movies would suit your organisation best and cast each participant in their respective acting roles and movies. Not everybody will get a lead role but we will accommodate everybody in a role. Supporting actors are just as important as lead actors; there is even awards for this on the night. Once the movies are cast, we will then inform you of our decision.
  • There are a few different options to announce who will feature in which movie. A launch night is a great idea where you can invite all participants along with their friends and family to start building some momentum for the night and that’s where you will announce who is in what movie. This is also a good idea for some team building and cast bonding. Other ways we have seen cast announcements done are on Facebook or at the first rehearsal.
  • Rehearsals will take place over a five week period once a week before the filming date. Rehearsal venues should be organized by your committee. Two separate venues will be needed, one for Director number one Shane and the other for Director number two John. Shane & John will direct three movies each and work on one together as well as coaching and directing the actors in rehearsals. More than anything, this concept is fantastic for confidence building.
  • Each weekly movie rehearsal will be allocated a 45/60 minute slot’s
  • We find each movie having a WhatsApp group is the best mode of communication.

TEAM LEADERS:
What we have found very effective is each movie having a team leader. Somebody appointed by you who will deal with all questions and offer support to their cast. We would advise appointing somebody who is organized, efficient and competitive.  The best team leader also wins an award on the night for ‘Best Producer’. A WhatsApp group should be set up by each team leader as soon as each movie and their casts is announced to keep everybody in the loop regarding rehearsals, props, costumes, locations and fundraising.

FUNDRAISING/SPONSORSHIP – HOW TO MAKE THE MONEY:
Ticket Sales - once you have your Acts in place this predominantly sells out the show, most participants will sell an average of 15 tickets each. (Average show attendance 800 persons)

Sponsorship - We propose that each group is set a target of a minimum of €2,500 to collect in sponsorship (via mini Fundraisers in advance of the show). This stream generates most income if coordinated properly.(We have many ideas that have been successful for other clubs to share)

Brochure - This is quiet a strong revenue stream whereby the pages of adverts are sold to local businesses, most businesses like to be associated with local fundraisers.( samples available)

Lucky Dip Raffle - Again another opportunity to raise over €5000 on the night.
Voting on the night
Major event sponsor - Some clubs/charities are fortunate enough to secure a large local sponsor of the event in exchange for prominent advertising and associations throughout the build up to the show; this can also be broken down in to two or three different packages, (Gold, Silver, Bronze sponsorship packages).
PROMOTING THE NIGHT, PUBLICITY MATERIAL: We will provide you with all promotional material design including your poster design, social media imagery (Facebook profile photo, cover photo, event photo etc) in the correction dimensions and resolution. We will print everything for you, the posters, road signage, tickets etc. The only thing we do not design or print is the programme booklet..
